Cousins come see Claire!

Bobby and Amy Gopffarth (Jacob's oldest brother and his wife) stop by on their way back to Mississippi with their son, Brady Layne Gopffarth. Brady was born in March, just 2 months before Claire! Claire has 2 cousins so far; Jaxon Walker son of Lee and Stephanie (Jacob's 2nd oldest brother & sis in law) and now Brady! Our only wish is that they lived closer!!

Our first public outing to eat with friends, Allison Holloway Short and her daughter Emma, Claire and me, and Susan and Caroline. We had lunch at Guadalarja Mexican restaurant. We had fun times and girls were great! Allison has been a wonderful helpful mom with great tips to pass down! Emma is a little more than a year older than Claire, but already they are great friends! :)

Claire's "Crib"

Claire's nursery is all ready and set!! We have chosen fabrics and Paula, AKA Mimi has made all her bedding for the princess! She is all decked on in pink and black...it is beautiful :) Thank you to Paula!

Claire's first stroller ride to the park in our neighborhood, Wedgewood Forest Lake. Jacob and I take her out to the park and feed the ducks and take some "scenic" photos with our baby girl!

We took a little road trip to Spring today to see Susan and Monica at Susan's Mom's house - The girls played inside while the Mom's hung out at the pool and relaxed a little - actually, I think the girls did more of the relaxing....and maybe a little texting?!?

Susan and Caroline come to visit - Susan Shacklett Dombrowski and I have been friends since we were about 3 years old. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends in my life and now Claire has her first best friend to start her life with! Caroline and Claire, or as Susan and I refer to them "CLAIROLINE" are so much fun together!! And coming soon....Gina's baby boy - Noah Daniel to join the gang! We can't wait!

Friends come to see Miss Claire @ home!

Jeff Rushing, Jacob's friend and co-worker from Idexx comes to visit with his wife Didi. Jeff and Didi have 2 girls and lots of wisdom to share on bringing up a daughter!! Jacob and Jeff are good friends and now have one more thing in common -- daughter Dads!

Laura Franek, and Maggie Chamblee Franek come to visit us. I taught with Laura at Hildebrandt and we have become great friends. Her daughter, Maggie, was born April 18th - a little less than a month before Claire!
I hope that our girls will grow to be good friends!! Laura is so fun and witty....

Jacob returned to work after being home a week with us. Jacob works for a wonderful company, Idexx Laboratories as a DPC Sales Representative. We are so proud of all his hard work and all he does for our family! Claire is lucky to have such a wonderful Papa

Bailey, Macy, and Coleman our dogs welcome the newest member of our family home - actually, Coleman (our Dobie) loves her the most and can't sniff her enough! We think Bailey and Macy may be a little jealous of their new sibling!

One week (almost to the day) after Claire Catherine was born was my 31st birthday, also Claire's orginal due date!! Claire arrived early, and I'm thankful she came on Mother's Day -- the best birthday gift ever....

Grandparents Welcome Claire (Jacob)

Jacob's mom, Paula - also known as "Mimi" on Jacob's side of the family. We have 2 newphews, Jaxon and Brady. Paula is now the grandmother of the only girl in her grand-group! Claire's Mimi made all the crib bedding for the nursery too! It was fit for a queen, or in this case a princess!

Jacob's dad, Bobby Lively welcomes Claire - his only grandchild so far. Jacob's youngest brother, Clint and his Bobby's wife Allison visit us and come to see Claire!

WELCOME HOME Claire Catherine. We arrived home from the hospital on Tuesday, 05/13. Her first afternoon/evening home she cuddles and sleeps on her Papa's shoulder and next to Mom. We are so happy to home!!

The GREAT Aunts meet their new Niece!

Claire's Great Aunt Chrisi comes to cuddle her and see her in the hospital. Shay and I are the only nieces of my Aunt Chrisi and only grandchildren on my father's side. Aunt Chrisi has always been an important part of our lives - childhood to adults and I'm so happy she will be a part of Claire's life as well!

Aunt Kerri and Uncle Pete are the "Pseudo Grandparents" to Claire Catherine. Aunt Kerri and Uncle Pete were some of the first people we told when we were expecting. Kerri was actually the first person at the hospital the night Claire was born! From wedding showers to welcoming their new great niece, they're always a part of the big celebrations of our lives!

Greatest girls ever, and all my close friends. I'm so lucky to be so blessed with wonderful people in my life - many more visitors stopped by to see us and we are really glad to have shared this special day with good friends and family that will always remain in Claire's life.

Claire Catherine Lively ARRIVES

On Mother's Day, 2008 at 7:43 in the morning Miss Claire Catherine Lively came into our worlds and into our hearts forever. She weighed 8 lbs and 4 oz and was 19.5 inches long! What a wonderful miracle girl. She was delivered at St. Luke's Hospital in The Woodlands.

Claire Catherine Lively came into this world at 7:43 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2008. She was my gift for Mother's Day!! She was born at St. Luke's Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas. Shortly after she arrived we were surrounded by family and friends anxious to meet the latest little Lively! What a wonderful day!

Claire's story begins...and so the BLOG begins

After a quick nine months and a wonderful pregnancy we're finally ready to welcome Claire Catherine Lively to our family...this is a picture of me about to leave for the hospital the night before Claire was actually born!

Jacob and I began our life together 10 years ago when we met at SFA. It's crazy how fast time flies, I can't believe that has been a decade now! After graduating and moving away from Nacogdoches we made our home in The Woodlands. We have been married over 3 years now! Claire Catherine Lively arrived on May 11, 2008. The sunshine and light of our lives.
Professionally Jacob and I have pursued various paths in our careers. Jacob works for Idexx Laboratories and I am high school teacher for Klein ISD.
We enjoy spending time with famly and friends, traveling, hanging out at home with our dogs (Bailey, Coleman, & Macy and our cat Dohnner). We love live music & concerts.
